About Me

My name is Rylee Kasal and my hometown is South Jordan, Utah. Growing up in South Jordan, I was able to graduate from Bingham High School and go on to take courses at Salt Lake Community College. At the community college, I was able to enroll in the Surgical Technology program and learn how to assist surgeons in surgery. After completing the Surgical Technology program at Salt Lake Community College, I worked as a surgical technologist for seven months at Jordan Valley Medical Center West Valley Campus. While at the hospital, I was trained to scrub in and assist surgeons in orthopedic procedures such as: total knee replacements, total hip replacements, rotator cuff repairs, femoral nails, and many other orthopedic surgeries. I also worked often with a hand surgeon, assisting in surgeries such as: carpal tunnels, ganglion cyst removals, and finger and wrist fractures. Along with orthopedic and hand surgeons, I also had the opportunity to work with a urologist, an ENT surgeon, and multiple general surgeons. While I loved working with different surgeons and assisting in various procedures, I realized that I would like to have a different career in the operating room. Because of that realization, I decided to come back to school and get a bachelor's degree in nursing so that I can eventually provide care for my patients as a nurse anesthetist.
